Former Mail on Sunday journalist Jaber Mohamed joined the MHP Health team in 2021 from the Department for Health and Social Care, where he was Chief Press Officer for International, Public Health and Medicines policy throughout the pandemic.

Until June 2021, Jaber oversaw all media relations for the UK’s Covid-19 Vaccination Programme – providing strategic advice to the then Vaccines Minister Nadhim Zahawi and then Health Secretary Matt Hancock. He was also Chief Press Officer to the Chief Medical Officer, Professor Chris Whitty and Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Professor Jonathan Van Tam.

Prior to his role at the Department of Health, Jaber held communications roles in the Cabinet Office and Department for Transport.

He currently helps lead the MHP health comms work for clients like Bupa, AstraZeneca and the NHS. He is also the team’s resident health media specialist.
