Oliver leads MHP’s Corporate Advisory and Capital Markets team. He specialises in business-critical communications and has advised some of the world’s leading organisations on M&A, shareholder activism, corporate campaigns and crises. Last year he was named professional of the year at the PRCA’s City and Financial Awards.

Oliver is a senior consultant to clients including SSE, Halma and Dunelm. He has recently advised on high-profile corporate situations including Hammerson’s proposed sale of its £1.5bn stake in Bicester Village owner Value Retail, Shaftesbury’s £5bn merger with Capital and Counties, The Restaurant Group’s takeover by Apollo Global Management and SSE’s successful defence against activist Elliott Advisers.

He has also advised on some of the UK’s most notable restructurings of recent years including the administration of Arcadia and the financial restructuring of Four Seasons Healthcare.

He sits on the Board of Greenwich and Docklands International Festival, the UK’s largest outdoor festival of performing arts. Previously he spent twelve years at Brunswick Group.
