James is a Media Director on the MHP Health Team with 14 years’ experience in media and communications, having originally started his career as a trained journalist.

After making his way up in regional newsrooms from a trainee reporter to content editor, James moved to the Department of Health and Social Care press office in 2017. James worked on communications for a variety of high-profile areas at DHSC, including the NHS, primary care, and Brexit, as well as being promoted to Chief Press Officer on the Public Health desk during the Covid-19 pandemic, which included supporting vaccine uptake communications.

In 2023, James moved to the healthcare agency industry, leading communications for pharmaceutical companies across a range of areas including campaigns, thought leadership, and corporate management.
