MHP Group Announces Director Hires to Support Corporate and Public Affairs Growth

MHP has hired two new directors to support its growing range of corporate & public affairs briefs.

Two people in business attire, possibly discussing corporate affairs, sit on a dark sofa in a bright room with a plant to the side. The man wears a suit and tie; the woman sports a blazer over a white top and dark skirt. Both smile at the camera.

Stefan Roberts joins MHP’s Public Affairs Practice from Hanbury, where he advised clients including Nvidia, Scale AI and Wayve. Prior to that, he led strategy and policy development for the UK’s transition to electric vehicles at the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles.

Roberts is the first major hire from Head of Public Affairs James Marshall, since he joined in September last year, and his arrival will bolster the team’s AI and cleantech policy expertise.

Helen Salvin joins the Brand & Reputation Practice from PHA Group, where she led the firm’s energy and sustainability communications within the Corporate & Enterprise practice. Salvin brings more than a decade of experience, advising brands across sectors including energy, transport, FMCG and technology. She will report into Head of Brand & Reputation, Rachel Bower.

Corporate and Public Affairs are two of MHP Group’s fastest-growing disciplines, with recent team wins including Airbus, Aviva and GSMA.

Roberts and Salvin will also support the work of MHP’s Transition Economy team, which was launched earlier this year to advise clients shaping, financing and delivering the energy transition.

MHP’s roster of corporate affairs clients – combining reputation, strategic media and political counsel – includes Sky, Müller and Breedon Group.

In April, MHP Group was named PR Week / In.Comms Integrated Corporate Affairs Agency of the Year, and, over the last 12 months, its integrated corporate affairs campaigns for Coca-Cola, Santander and E.ON have won major awards from the CIPR, The Drum and PR Week.

Welcoming the arrivals, MHP Group CEO Alex Bigg, said:

“I’m excited to welcome Helen and Stefan to the team. They understand how to knit our full-service capabilities to deliver integrated work, and they bring a depth of experience and expert insight that clients increasingly expect. In particular, they will strengthen our advisory capabilities in two of our fastest-growing sectors – AI and cleantech.”

Helen Salvin, Director, Brand & Reputation added:

“Businesses face unprecedented complexity, and MHP is leading the way in understanding how societal and technological shifts shape the work we do for clients. I’ve been hugely impressed by MHP’s fully integrated offering, from its use of AI analytics to its work in the energy transition, and I look forward to building on it in my new role.”

Stefan Roberts, Director, Public Affairs commented:

“Clients increasingly need political, media and reputational advice that works as one rather than as separate disciplines. That’s particularly true in fast-moving areas like technology and AI. MHP is exceptionally well set up to provide that, and I’m excited to be joining the Public Affairs team to build and expand our offer for clients.”
