The two new specialists will report into MD Charlotte Brooks and will continue to build on Mischief’s disruptive heritage to develop fully-integrated creative capabilities. Mischief’s through-the-line approach connects audiences and brands through passion, which means that Ross and Gosen are the perfect fit.
Ottilie Ross (née Ratcliffe) is one of the UK’s leading creatives, having worked as Creative Director at The Romans, Milk & Honey and most recently Halpern and The & Partnership. She is the former Chair of the PRCA Creative Group, a PR Week 30 under 30 winner, winner of the PRCA Young Communicator of the Year and the recipient of both a Silver and Gold Young Lions award. This is a homecoming for Ottilie, who began her career at Mischief.
Ottilie will lead the agency’s creative output and will be responsible for evolving and growing Mischief’s creative offer.
Emily Gosen also joins as Creative Director, arriving from Ketchum, where she has developed award-winning creative for global brands including The LEGO Foundation, Adobe and P&G. Emily is also a PR Week 30 under 30 recipient and a regular mentor in industry-wide schemes, such as PRWeek’s Creative Mentoring programme and Creative Equals Disabled Creatives initiative.
Emily will be responsible for spearheading Mischief’s culture-led creative work, and will be instrumental in developing fast turnaround, attention grabbing creative for some of Mischief’s flagship clients including Three, Just Eat and Ocado.
Ottilie Ross said:
“I cut my teeth at Mischief 14 years ago, and can’t wait to rejoin, bringing a decade’s worth of experience working on some of the world’s most exciting brands with me.
“It’s a new creative chapter for an industry titan that’s always on the front foot, and one I’m excited to lead alongside a killer team of creative specialists.”
Emily Gosen said:
“From the moment I first spoke to Charlotte and the team I knew I wanted to be a part of Mischief’s evolution. The agency name alone was enough to pull me in – but the vision, clients and creative opportunities made it even more exciting.
I remember seeing the Kiyan Prince Foundation campaign at Cannes Lions a few years back and thinking ‘holy sh*t, now this is the type of work I want to do’. Mischief’s focus on connecting through passion is perfect for the industry defining, culture-first work that I’m excited to lead alongside Ottilie and the rest of the team.”
Charlotte Brooks, Managing Director, Mischief, said:
“You wait ages for a Creative Director and then two come along at once, and we could not be more thrilled that those two are Emily and Ottilie. This was an important search for us – as we approach our 20th year we wanted to evolve Mischief’s creative output and offer greater diversity of thought to our clients who are increasingly looking for fully integrated through-the-line creativity.
We’ve had some brilliant recent wins including the likes of Experian, Amazon, Pringles, and Warner Bros. Discovery, and have seen strong organic growth across our existing client base. By bolstering our creative team, we hope to build on the success we’ve enjoyed so far this year as we continue to grow Mischief’s integrated offer. I’m very excited to see what we will achieve together.”
