We are delighted to share that La Plage’s animated short, “An Angel on Oxford Street,” has won the Short Film Grand Jury award in the animation category at the 38th Edmonton International Film Festival in Canada.

This win opens the door for the film to be considered for some of the most illustrious awards in the industry, including the Oscars, Baftas, and the Canadian Screen Awards.

“An Angel on Oxford Street,” a nine-minute short produced and animated by La Plage, explores the current social landscape of Britain, through the lens of a homeless man on the streets of London.

The short has already made waves earlier this year with nominations for best animated film at both the Raindance and Holly Shorts Film Festivals. Written by Bafta winner Geoff Thompson and directed by Paul Shammasian, the film has captured hearts with its poignant storytelling and stunning visuals.

The film has also been shortlisted at several other prestigious festivals, including the Aesthetica Short Film Festival, Austin Film Festival, Bolton Film Festival, Carmarthen Bay Film Festival and Raindance Film Festival.
